Florida has one of the largest boating populations in the country. Admiralty legal problems raise a number of specialized concerns in any such claim or lawsuit not only as to jurisdictional questions but some unique laws affecting these kinds of accidents. Mr. Schwartz and Mr. Hruska have over sixty years of combined national and international expertise in the investigation and handling of boating injuries, vessel collisions, scuba and other marine accidents, whether brought in an Admiralty federal court, state court or before some supervisory administrative agency or arbitration panel.
Mr. Hruska is an expert in scuba diving matters with a long-time representation of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, having participated in and supervised scuba and boating accident investigations and trials throughout the world. He has routinely defended boat operators, diving instructors, PADI training facilities, scuba diving equipment manufacturers and others involved in these underwater diving legal problems.
Mr. Schwartz has acted as advisor and litigator for marine insurers, vessel operators, many emergency and non-emergency marine towing and salvage actions, hull and machinery, sinkings, protection and indemnity coverage disputes and other maritime legal services to various boating clients, including marine insurance coverage, drafting of documents for yacht brokers, boat buyers/sellers, marine lenders, boat builders, professional salvors, and other members of the boating community. Mr. Schwartz is the former national claims manager for BOAT/U.S. with prior supervision of thousands of recreational boating property and injury claims. He has also served as catastrophe coordinator for several marine insurance programs following hurricanes. Both Mr. Schwartz and Mr. Hruska also provide expertise to other law firms in boating litigation around the country.
