William R. McMahon

    WILLIAM R. McMAHON is an honors graduate of Richard Stockton College in New Jersey (2003) and the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree in 2006.  Prior to law school he served as an assistant to noted constitutional law attorney Linda Wharton, who litigated the landmark Supreme Court case, Planned Parenthood v. Casey regarding a woman's right to choose.

     While at Dickinson law school, Mr. McMahon was a contributing writer to several publications including The Judicial Notice, Legalese, and Beyond Litigation where he had multiple articles concerning international and domestic economical and political issues.  He was a member of Dickinson's National Appellate Moot Court Team and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society.  He served as advisor to the Miller Center for Public Interest Advocacy which helped indigent clients in the community.  He also served as a law clerk for an Administrative Law Judge in Harrisburg, PA dealing with workman's compensation issues.  In addition he actively participated in a civil rights federal jury trial on behalf of an inmate for a United States constitutional claim. Before relocating to Florida and joining Schwartz & Horwitz, Mr. McMahon worked for several law firms in Pennsylvania and also for his father who is a lawyer in New Jersey.   

      Though a relatively new lawyer, he has already developed a depth of experience in insurance coverage and third party defense matters, provided key appellate brief writing for successful appeals.  He has written numerous dispositive motions presented in the circuit courts throughout the state on various premises liability and insurance claims.  Prior to becoming an attorney, Bill lived in Central and South America where he developed fluency in Spanish.  He has had a colorful work history helping to provide useful background for the diverse law practice of the Firm including jobs as a waiter, bartender, cook, landscaper, various construction jobs and a caddy.  Mr. McMahon was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2007.  An avid golfer and fisherman, he resides in Boca Raton with his wife, Kelly.
