

MARK A HRUSKA is an honors graduate, summa cum laude of the University of Pittsburgh, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972 and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1975. Before relocating to Florida in 1987, he practiced in Pittsburgh for a noted law firm for over ten years conducting numerous civil trials in the areas of personal injury, commercial and premises liability and medical malpractice. Mr. Hruska has served as both lead and supervisory trial and appellate counsel in many commercial liability, wrongful death and insurance coverage/defense litigation cases throughout the country for over thirty years. Mr. Hruska joined the Schwarz & Horwitz firm in 2005 after a successful solo law practice and prior law firm partnership for many years based in Boca Raton. He has been admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania (1975) and Florida (1986). He has handled litigation not only in many jurisdictions around the United States but in foreigh countries as well. He has served with distinction for many years as primary advisory legal counsel to the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) and holds a worldwide reputation in the scuba diving industry, assisting in risk management of dive instructors as well as dive shops and vessel operators along with litigation management for PADI claims wherever they arise. Mr. Hruska is a regular lecturer at Diving Equipment and Marketing Association and Professional Diving Association functions. He is also a contributing author for PADI Training Manuals.
Mr. Hruska is a member of the trial bar in all Florida State and Federal courts and Pennsylvania courts, the Florida Bar Association and a former member of the Board of Governors for the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. Through special counsel admissions, Mr. Hruska has appeared in state or federal trials in Hawaii, California, Orgeon, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and the Virgin Islands with litigation claims management in the Orient as well. He has also been a featured attorney on Court TV/NBC Dateline for scuba cases. He is also a past winner of the International Professional Association of Diving Instructors Appreciation Award for service to the dive industry. Apart from his active civil litigation practice, Mr. Hruska also serves as a State-Certified Mediator.
A native of Pittsburgh, Mark and his wife, Debra, reside in Boca Raton.
